The excitement of Digital Construction Week is gradually fading – but what a week it was.
This year Elecosoft received more interest than earlier years on its stand at ExCel London. Elecosoft colleagues were able to showcase the company’s broad range of digital solutions which address the challenges at different stages in the building lifecycle.
Elecosoft’s demonstrations ranged from showing the 4D BIM and mobile reporting capabilities of Powerproject, the UK construction industry-leading planning and programme management solution, to planned preventative maintenance with the ShireSystem CMMS and CAFM solution. The team also demonstrated the management of digital standards and specifications with the IconSystem, demonstrating its amazing potential for housebuilding and construction on stand and also on stage.
Lee Batchelor, Managing Director for Elecosoft Market Harborough took to the Tech Stage to speak about the importance of Specifications and Standards in a Non-Standard world.
Lee showed how inspiration could be drawn from sectors such as retail, which have the standardisation of spaces and outlets down to a fine art – and the challenge of how construction businesses and their clients can better maintain, distribute and publish current and complete specifications to their complex chain of suppliers and sub-contractors.
Digital Construction Week has always been a good event and it is great to see it going from strength to strength each year as the digital transformation of the construction world accelerates and becomes increasingly impactful.
